XP security console

The Windows XP Security Console is designed to allow you to easily apply various Windows restrictions, similar to the Group Policy Editor, to specific User accounts. It is compatible with Windows XP Home and Professional. It also enables Windows XP Professional users to assign group policies on a per-user basis, rather than a machine-wide basis.

Windows XP Home does not come with the Windows Group Policy Editor tool like XP Pro does so this utility comes in handy if you want to restrict certain features of Windows or restrict certain users from accessing these features.

With the Windows XP Security Console you can change settings for various items such as how the desktop is displayed or what is shown on the Start menu among other features.

This utility is not intended to bypass restrictions put in place by an Administrator, or to bypass security settings in a corporate environment. To use this utility, you must be a member of the Administrators group.
